about

get to know this project

The main objective of the project was to bring active citizens together and support their engagement in urban transformation. By exchanging experiences and ideas, the participants could get empowered to become agents of change in their local communities and create innovative approaches to urban challenges.

Next to the possibility of learning from each other by sharing best practices and experiences, the project also provided participants with a unique opportunity to co-shape the transformation of an abandoned building in Melitopol. To be exact, the participants were encouraged to develop their innovative approaches and unique ideas on how to use the abandoned Soviet industrial building “Teplo-Punkt” (the former heat distribution station in Melitopol).

The results of the project were presented at the exhibition, which was held at “Teplo- Punkt” in Melitopol. This exhibition was then used as an open space for public discussion to find the best solutions and ideas for the revitalisation of “Teplo-Point”. Based on the solutions developed by the participants, the Department proceeded in the transformation of“Teplo-Punkt”.

The exchange project was implemented in close cooperation with “Cultural Di@log” (Ukraine) and supported within the MeetUP initiative of “The Foundation Remembrance, Responsibility and Future”.
